Nephew’s JW Fiancée Begins Conversion to Judaism Due to Passover Date
by Rabbi Midge init’s been a while since i posted, but for those who remember, i came on here to get some information about jehovah’s witnesses because i have a nephew who was getting engaged to a girl who was a jehovah’s witness and, along with some other sites, i was recommended this one.. since then we’ve been busy with passover and jehovah’s witnesses have had something they call the memorial of christ’s death (i believe i have that right).
this clashing of the two observances apparently did more for this girl than anything else i ever saw in our months of conversations with her.. respectfully, jews do not proselytize.
these are people who, of their own desire, “join the tribe” after some years of study and practice--something this girl has just begun to do.

We are giving too much power to the watchtower
by sinboi ini am just 17. many of you here are much older than me.. i do feel that offering advice here is like teaching my father how to fuck.
but seriously, i do see the problem here.
we are focusing more on the problem than the solution.. i have been reading mind power books for quite some time.

Rock on Sinboi!
Love your realistic, positive viewpoint. I definitely wish I had 1/10 of your insight when I was 17. Keep doing your thing young brother, you WILL succeed 😀

An honest look at the situation
by Formerbrother ini was brought up in the truth.
i saw a lot unchristian things going on in my local body of elders, my dad was an elder and waiting outside elders meetings to go home with my mum and other wives, we sometimes heard raised voices in the 2nd school.
the other mums would raise their voices as well thinking of something to say to hide the elders 'private' arguments.. my dad hated it all, i think he hated having to keep things secret from my mum and me.. anyway, i got baptised, and as we did back then didnt think about further education but instead pioneered.

Hi Formerbrother,
Being an ex-elder yourself as many of us here are, you know why the elders say they want to help only to stab you in the back later. They are Company Men, indoctrinated by the Org as we once were.
As for myself, I used to do the same thing.(Elder for 25 years) I did not see it then as I do now.( To my everlasting shame)
What I'm tying to do now is move forward, accepting that stupid things happened in the past. But I definitely agree with the previous comments about your kids. Help them break free from the clutches of the Org while they are still young enough to have a meaningful life.
It is too late for me and my kids now, but I am now focused on making sure my grandkids break the cycle.
Hang tough Formerbrother

Hello dubstepped,
I hope this doesn't sound creepy, but I often can relate to and agree with most of your posts. We must have had a very similar experience with the Org....

Example of sensitive data – should I be worried?
by Fay Dehr in### here's a link to a high-quality version of the above form: https://1drv.ms/u/s!amcrvjcxi6m6a2mdhysjdll3m00 ###.
the attached image is the rear of form a-27; this is just example of many forms that contain personal data.
i’d like to know: should i be worried?.

One point on the form that shows what a complete joke the whole thing is- rating an individual's "spiritual" standing. Absolutely retarted!!
Unfortunatly, we cannot control what others say about us.
Yes, it is BS Fay Dehr, but I wouldn't worry about it too much....

Hi Sinboi,
I'm glad you are remaining positive in your mental outlook. Unfortunately, keeping and maintaining a positive attitude is a small part of a big problem.
For example, when your friends and family shun you because of being strong-armed by the Org, all the positive attitude in the world on your part will not change their attitude towards you because they are under cult control.
That being said, I commend you young brother for your enthusiasm!

non jehovah witness dinner
by whatisthis12 inso almost two weeks ago, my boyfriend(who was disfellowshiped) went to the memorial.
he hasn’t spoken to his parents, friends, or siblings for over a year because of it.
the only person he keeps in contact with is his grandma, which is who he went along with.

JWs and daily Bible reading schedule
by AuntBee injws often point to this, to show outsiders they are allowed to read the bible on their own without the publications.
although, as we know, the org still teaches that you will never progress along the road to life without the pubs.
and, i would imagine that what they learn/conclude from their own bible reading, must remain within the confines of current wt teaching, even on the most minute points of doctrine.

Daily bible reading has always been outwardly promoted. Old HQ had the sign to that effect for a very long time. As to how many JW's actually do it regularly- not many these days. 30-40 years ago they did more, not so much now.
And yes, all of your conclusions must conform to the Org's interpretation.
